ABOUT ME

Ángela Vásquez, MS

Welcome to this space, I’m glad you’re here! I’m a Professional Counselor Associate and I work with adults and adolescents over 15 years old. The foundation of my practice is rooted in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and liberation frame work. While I work with clients from all walks of life, I have a focus on serving the BIPOC, Latinx and Hispanic communities. I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma and live with anxiety. I provide therapy in English, Spanish (or Spanglish!) and my priority is for clients to feel like they can be their most authentic selves. Further, I foster an environment that is culturally responsive, non-jugmental, and sometimes sprinkled with a little humor. I also incorporate other creative modalities such journaling, drawing or engaging in meditations.

Therapy Approaches:

  • Relational Cultural Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Existential Therapy

  •  Art Therapy

  • Mindfulness and Somatic work

Outside of counseling I love traveling, exercising, journaling and dancing. Whether it’s sunny or rainy (more than likely), I enjoy going for long walks and hikes in nature. I deeply value having spiritual practice and spending quality time with my loved ones. I also find joy in watching an engaging TV show, savoring dark chocolate and trying new foods from around the world.

Therapy with Ángela

Through our work together, you’ll understand how your life experiences and identities have shaped your world view. You’ll explore how emotions manifest in your body and learn tools to help regulate it. You will also identify and unlearn false beliefs and messages about who you are not. You will notice that you do have autonomy over your life and rediscover who you are meant to be authentically.

Schedule yourself a free 15 minute phone consultation. During this time, we’ll briefly go over your needs in therapy, what got you here and what working together will look like.
